INCLUSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
In order for District 19 to be successful, every resident must all have an equal opportunity to obtain success and be included in the economic development that occurs. As your State Senator, I’ll spearhead legislation that provides for a more inclusive economic ecosystem.

In the Alabama House, I co-sponsored HB274, a bill allowing for the business licensure of mobile hair salons and barber shops. Continuing the good work in the Senate, I’ll expunge all efforts in ensuring entrepreneurs across District 19 have an equitable opportunity to open and operate a business.

Oftentimes, senior residents are excluded from economic and developmental progress made throughout the District. In the State House, I was instrumental in sponsoring HB590, a bill allowing for a person aged 65 or older to claim a senior property tax exemption and a property value freeze. In the State Senate, I’ll continue working to ensure senior residents and longstanding District 19 residents remain in their homes and are included in community development.
